Britains Andy Murray has vowed to return even stronger following another heartbreaking loss to Novak Djokovic in a Grand Slam final. Djokovics 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-4 victory in the French Open showpiece on Sunday saw him finally complete his set of slam titles and become just the third player after Don Budge in 1938 and Rod Laver, in 1962 and 1969, to simultaneously hold all four Grand Slam trophies.By reaching his first final at Roland Garros, Murray equalled Fred Perry once more by appearing in his 10th slam final. But, while Perry won eight titles, Murray has lost that many times, five of them to a dominant Djokovic, who he also beat to win the US Open and Wimbledon, and three to Swiss great Roger Federer. Djokovic wins French Open Novak Djokovic beats Andy Murray to win French Open for first time Murray started promisingly by taking the first set in Paris, but the 29-year-old had few answers as Djokovic proceeded to move through the gears on Philippe Chatrier court, and the Scot was reluctant to reflect on the achievement of reaching his first Roland Garros final. Andy Murray was humble in defeat after losing the French Open final in four sets to Novak Djokovic Its such a rare thing to have happened, and obviously the depth in the game just now is strong. Some people may think differently, but the level of tennis I think is pretty high now and something you probably wont see for a long, long time, said Murray. Djokovic (R) completed a career Grand Slam His performances over the last 18 months to two years have been exceptional and he deserves to be number one.The Serb also joined contemporaries Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in an exclusive eight-man club of players to have completed a career Grand Slam. Novak is truly astonishing Novak Djokovic is in unstoppable form after French Open win over Andy Murray Murray, the 2012 US Open and 2013 Wimbledon champion, admitted he was disappointed to lag behind Federer, Nadal and Djokovic but remained confident of adding to his two major titles.Obviously the guys I have been around the last few years have made things difficult for me. I have been close-ish to winning all of the Slams now and unfortunately all of them have done it instead. But I guess Ive got a few more years to try and do that. I think when I finish I will be more proud of my achievements maybe.None of the big events I have won have I done it without beating one of those guys or a couple of them. So, yeah. Maybe when I finish playing, my achievements will mean a little bit more.Djokovics victory in Paris improved his record against Murray to 24-10, but he vowed to come back stronger and avenge Sundays pain should the pair meet at Wimbledon next month. How can Murray beat Novak? Areas where Andy Murray must improve if he is to beat Novak Djokovic... Im very disappointed. You know, from 13 days ago, I maybe would have signed to have been in this position. I was struggling. I was a couple of points from going out of the tournament in the first round. But then when you get there, obviously you want to win.Murray will switch his focus to acclimatising to grass next ahead of the pre-Wimbledon tournament at Queens Club, which starts on June 13. Murray will be bidding for a record fifth title at Queens Club Second-ranked Murray is bidding for a record fifth title at the west London venue having lifted the trophy in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015.I have played some of my best tennis on clay, for sure, over the last few weeks and definitely the last couple of years, he said. Former British tennis player Barry Cowan gives his assessment of Novak Djokovic clinching the career Grand Slam Hopefully that translates well onto the grass, which is a surface that comes way, way more natural to me.So, yeah, I will try and have a good run on the grass. You know, if we meet on the grass, Ill try and learn from the last few weeks matches and see things I could have done better. Can Andy Murray win Wimbledon? Jatavis Brown Jersey .com) - The Grand Slam season will get underway Monday at the Australian Open in Melbourne, where a new champion will be crowned this year.Former England skipper Ray Wilkins has told Sky Sports News HQ he does not expect Ronald Koeman to leave Southampton for Everton this summer. The ex-Chelsea and Manchester United star believes the new contracts handed to three Saints players in recent days may be a tell-tale sign that their Dutch manager is also staying on the south coast.Koeman is being linked to the vacant seat at Everton, who sacked Roberto Martinez on Thursday following their dismal end to the Premier League season. However, the news that Fraser Forster, James Ward-Prowse and Virgil van Dijk are remaining at St Marys may be down to a guarantee that Koeman will still be Southampton boss next season.Goalkeeper Forster has signed a new five-year deal, while midfielder Ward-Prowse and defender van Dijk are staying for six more seasons.Wilkins said: Forster is an England international, and young Ward-Prowse has done well for the under 21s. He may be looking for a bigger fish, and thats no disrespect to Everton or their supporters. Ray Wilkins Would they have sought guarantees from Koeman that he was going to remain there before signing their contracts? Both have improved under him and, in the modern day game, they may have wanted assurances he was staying. And Wilkins believes Koeman may not view Everton as being a step up from Southampton, bearing in mind that the Toffees trail Saints by 16 points going into the final weekend of the season. He added: I think Southampton are the bigger club. He may be looking for a bigger fish, and thats no disrespect to Everton or their supporters. Ray Wilkins believes Southampton boss Ronald Koeman will stay at the club this summer despite reports linking him with Everton.dddddddddddd Hes done a magnificent job. When he went there (in June 2014) they had just sold about five players - three went to Liverpool - and he has had to rebuild all over again. He sells players but brings in top quality players who are accustomed to our league. I think hes ready for a go at the top four.Wilkins thinks the demise of Martinez maybe down to the teams failures when their opponents have possession. He went on: What Ive seen of Everton the last couple of years, with the ball they are exceptional, reaching two cup semi-finals this year, so its not all bad. With the ball good but without it not so good - or not as good as it should be. I think that has been their major failing. Its all about winning, and when you lose eight games at home, thats not good enough if youre a top club.
